Myths, tales and legends of Mansi people
Dear readers!
We present to your attention a virtual exhibition of literature in the languages of the indigenous peoples of Yugra.
Mansi have inhabited the Yugra land since ancient times. Mansi legends and tales reflect the power, strength and beauty of the harsh northern nature, tell about the life of the first people. The study of myths, tales, fables and legends of Mansi allows to reveal the richness of the inner world of the people, its customs and original character. Despite the small number of the ethnic group, the Mansi have managed to preserve their folklore heritage and language, carefully passing it from generation to generation.
The scientific library of Surgut State University has books useful for those who are interested in the history of our small homeland – Yugra, embodied in myths, tales and legends of the indigenous peoples of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
