Author`s profile
Author profile is a set of information in a scientometric database about the author's places of work, number of his/her publications and their citations, field of research, co-authors, list of references used in the works etc.
When registering in scientific citation databases, each author (author profile) is assigned a unique identifier (ID). With the help of IDs, one of the most important problems in the evaluation and management of science is solved – a reliable link between the researcher and his/her works, which in turn leads to a complete and accurate representation of data on the author's publishing activity.
ID enables identification of the researcher in the world scientific community, to make visible the results of his/her own scientific activity, simplifies the search for information, and also makes it possible to quickly obtain data on the researcher's publishing activity for the preparation of grant applications etc.
Nowadays, an active author profile is an essential need for any scientist who wants to make the results of his/her research visible and accessible to the global scientific community.
The most common systems of author identifiers are ORCID, ResearcherID (Publons), Author Identifier (Scopus), SCIENCE INDEX for authors (RSCI), Google Scholar Citations.
