Scientific social networks

Interactive platforms for members of the scientific community with a wide range of opportunities to exchange opinions, find and create groups with similar scientific interests, post their publications, and integrate into the scientific life of the academic community. Academic social networks will be especially useful for young scientists and graduate students who have just started their academic careers.

Academia.edu is a classic social network with an extremely simple interface and a convenient system for searching for publications (by keywords or by common interest group). You can post your own texts of already published or just about to be published works (working paper), as well as download works of other authors.

Mendeley is an academic social network and a free universal bibliographic manager. In addition to the standard functionality (store documents in your personal library, manage and use them at any time, highlight fragments and share with others, create bibliographic lists and references), it allows you to find colleagues who cite the same sources and download articles from platforms such as Science Direct.

ResearchGate is a free social network and collaboration tool for scientists around the world. It provides users with the ability to search by abstract (semantic search), share files, publication database etc. Members can create their own personal blog within the network.

Media and the Internet

Promotion of research results implies the activity of authors in mass media, social networks and other Internet platforms.

Social media is an effective channel for disseminating published results. Advantages: relative ease of use, wide audience, possibility of quick contact and tracking users' reactions to the article.

Personal website enables a scientist to present information about him/herself and his/her work, supplement previously published materials with new comments, initiate discussions and attract colleagues to participate in them.

Blog, YouTube videos are useful tools for popularising the results of the research to a wider audience, including young people.

Media – preparation of press releases, interviews and other materials.
