Museum of the Book

The Museum of the Book was established in 2016 on the basis of the collection of rare and valuable publications of the Library and Information Centre of Surgut State University.

Today there are more than 1,000 unique documents of the 18th – early 20th centuries, valuable and rare editions of the 20th – 21st centuries, works of leading scientists of Surgut State University, books with ex-libris and autographs of famous people of Russia, miniature editions.

Especially valuable are facsimile editions: “The Chronicle of Ivan the Terrible” in 24 volumes (16th century), “Karion Istomin`s Alphabet Book” (early 17th century), “S. U. Remezov`s blueprint book of Siberia” (17th century) and “Dostoevsky`s Gospel” (early 19th century).
