Provides:

information on the publishing activity of academic staff, structural units and the university as a whole in scientific citation indices;
users' access to information resources of other libraries on the basis of interlibrary loan (ILL) and electronic document delivery system (EDD);
statistics on the use of resources of electronic library systems and databases by the library readers.

Performs:

organising and conducting educational events to educate academic staff, employees, postgraduates and undergraduates of Surgut State University on modern methods of information retrieval, development of competences of university authors in the field of publishing activity;
consulting authors on preparation and formatting of articles for publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals;

individual and group trainings on the use of information and bibliographic tools for scientific activity;
informing users about information resources, educational events and services offered by the Library and Information Centre;
adding bibliographic descriptions of publications of the university staff, linking publications and citations, updating authors' indices, etc. in the “Science Index” system of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI);
publishing electronic versions of Surgut State University scientific journals in the LIC electronic library and the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI);
creation of guidelines, algorithms and methodological guides for users to help them search for information independently;
maintaining the websites of Surgut State University scientific journals;
organization of the editorial boards work of Surgut State University scientific journals;
accepting applications for lump-sum incentive payments.
